My daughter came home from college one weekend and said I need a TV stand for my dorm room. So of course we went shopping. I have to say the choices were not good. They lacked character plus talk about expensive. We had just about given up when I remembered this little table I had down in my storage room.
This is obviously the BEFORE picture. Which I almost forgot to take.
But the AFTER.......
WOW! What a difference. I just love paint. Since I knew my daughter would be taking this back with her the next day and there would not be a lot of drying time I decided to use spray paint. It worked wonderfully. I did prime the table first then sprayed on two coats of spray paint. The paint I used was Rust-oleum satin Aqua. We sprayed the handle white and ta-DA we have a cute TV stand with lots of personality for not much money.

Craig's List Buffet Redo
Sorry I have been away so long. There seems to be so much to do and so little time to do it lately. I did however want to show you my latest project.
I found this wonderful buffet on Craig's list a few months ago for $80.00. Here is a picture of how it looked before the miracle of white paint.
Can you see how rough the finish was? Especially the top of the buffet. There were chips out of the top and water stains.
Now here is what the buffet looks like after just one coat of paint,
and a little sanding.
I was going for that wonderful white, chippy look. Before I put the paint on I sanded the whole piece lightly, the top I sanded a bit more to try to even it out before I painted it. I think it turned out pretty well. It was a quick, easy project. I topped it off with a burlap runner, a 3-tier plate, and a crate of silver platters. All garage sale finds I might add.
Thanks for stopping by for a visit. I am off to add some touches of spring to my decor.

I Just Love White Paint
White paint just seems to make every thing look new. I love the clean fresh look of white painted furniture. These are pictures of some things I painted before I had a blog. Sadly I do not have before pictures but I wanted to share these pieces with you anyway. The cabinet below sits in the corner of my living room and is one of my favorite re-dos. I lightly sanded it, painted it white (2 coats to cover the flowers that were painted on it), then glazed it. The glaze does not show up well in this picture but it is there. I did this project 2 years ago and can not find the exact color of glaze I used but is was a dark brown.
The bench below is also in my living room. This I only put one coat of paint on, then sanded it after it dried to get that worn look.
Painting the kitchen table was the biggest surprise. It really changed the look of it. My friends thought I had bought a new set when they came over. Is there anything harder to paint than chairs? Drips, drips, drips! Do you see that brown hutch in the background? That is one of my many projects. Of course the plan is to paint it white.
This is a picture of a trunk that sits at the end of my bed. I usually keep a folded coverlet over it so it is a bit softer to sit on.
Thanks for stopping by and taking a look at some of my finished projects. Hopefully I will have more projects to show you soon.
