Buffet Decorated For Fall

Decorating my buffet for Fall this year was very difficult.  It may be because it still feels like summer outside, or it may be because I thought I would just do something quick and simple and change it for Halloween in a couple of weeks.  Whatever the reason the decorative juices were not flowing today.  So after spending all afternoon getting out my Fall decorations this is the only area of my house that is dressed for Fall.  Not very good time management.  Hopefully by the end of the week I can show you the rest of my Fall decor.

I know what your saying...."It took her all afternoon to do this?"  Yep, sadly it did.   I know it doesn't scream Fall and there is an absence of Fall colors but there will be some orange scattered around the rest of the room.

I found this chalkboard at a consignment shop and had wanted to use it on the buffet.  It looks great here but I had the hardest time deciding what to write on it. Then, I didn't like my handwriting. I think I like the "Autumn Blessings" the best that is shown in the first picture.

Well, there you have it.  Thanks for stopping by and may your Fall decor go up with ease.

Autumn Blessing!

  1. I think it looks charming! I get tired of too much of the reds and oranges, so this looks very soothing to me, you will like it after a while too!

  8. I can so relate to spending endless amounts of time decorating just one space! Its the "tweaker" in us! However, you did NOT waste your time...I LOVE the brown tones in your buffet-scape, so natural looking and your placement of pieces is very pleasing to the eye. My fave of your chalkboard writing is the bold HARVEST one! Hmmm, wonder if I can break away from the oranges, reds and golds (that I love) this year....you've inspired me to try in at least one spot around the house!

  18. It's lovely. Once the weather cools you will be in a more "fall decorating" mood and it will come to you. At least that's what I'm telling myself. LOVE the pine cones under the cloches :)

  19. I love the look. Isn't it funny that what looks so simple and casually put together can take hours of "arranging"?

  23. Oh you have captured my fancy! This is my type of fall. You remind us that it doesn't have to be all about orange pumpkins.

  24. Don't EVEN trip about the time management thing! I start projects and sometime has have to walk past them for 2 or 3 weeks before I can continue. It's not like creativity has a hot & cold faucet or On/Off button...sometimes you're feelin' it, and sometimes you're not! I think you were feeling it here more than you think! This is a wonderfully low-key fall vignette. It doesn't scream fall, but I don't think it necessarily needs to. Quietly pretty. I like it!
