An Old Screen Door On The Front Porch

We brought this old screen door home from my hubbies uncle's farm a few years ago.  It was the door he had on the chicken coop.  I just fell in love with it when I saw it.
We hosed it off, feathers and all, and set it on the front porch to dry and there it has stayed.

It just seems perfect there and I think it fills up the space nicely.

The tray I bought at a garage sale this month for only seven dollars.  It looks so cute dressed up for Fall.

Since I didn't have a plant to put in the hanger I just put in some pumpkins I already had.

And of course I can't leave out this cute little witch.
I just love her big feet.

Here is the view of the porch from the front.
I am wanting to change the color of the front door.  Any suggestions on what color I should paint it?

As always, thanks for stopping by for a visit.  I love having you over!

  3. I love that screen door, it has such character! Everything on your porch looks great. The orange pumpkin looks so pretty between your two windows... so, I'm thinking you should paint your front door orange ":o)

  5. Love the screen and your tray!
As far as painting your front door goes, if you want it to "pop" a little, you could go for a complimentary color to your brick an neutral gray-ish paint. A nice turquoise-ish or even a periwinkle blue would both pop, as would a granny smith apple green. The value could range from light to deep and rich, depending on your likes. It might be nice to tie it in with an accent color at your point of entry...
Love visiting your blog, love the white stuff.

  8. I love the screen door too! The brick on your home looks like it has a lot of that rusty terra-cotta color. I think that would be a good door color.

  12. Adore that sweet little screen door! I purchased a small wooden door at a flea market this summer that now resides in my living room. What is it about little doors that are so enchanting...? :) I think a rich, black door would be really chic on your house. Or even maybe a pretty charcoal gray? Good luck with your decision!

  19. I agree with Revi above...granny smith green would be fantastic, especially if you added touches of it around the door with plants or furniture that color. Pretty porch!
