Christmas Mantel 2011

I am always amazed how different my Christmas decor looks year from year.  Just by placing a few things in different places or by adding a couple things here or there can change the whole feel.  This year's Christmas mantel is an excellent example of that.  It was about this time last year that I started collecting mercury glass and this Christmas I thought I would deck out my mantel with some of the pieces I have collected.  WOW!  That dressed things up.

You would think that adding a little silver to my White themed Christmas would not make that big of difference but when I put my stockings up this year they just didn't seem to match.

I thought about making new ones but then quickly came to my senses.  This time of year is busy enough without adding another project so I hung the stockings on my banister this year.  I will show you how the banister turned out in another post.

I hope all of you are enjoying the Christmas Season, baking lots of cookies, and taking care of all those lists.
